Learn, Earn, and Return. Rethinking Life's Stages: Leading Super for the 100-Year Journey

PDF

The 2025 FEAL National Conference theme was inspired by the global bestselling book “The 100-Year Life: Living and Working in an Age of Longevity” by London Business School’s Lynda Gratton and Andrew Scott, as it explored the societal and personal implications of increasing lifespans and suggests strategies for thriving in a world where living to 100 is becoming the norm. Translated into over 15 languages and discussed at events like the World Economic Forum and the G20, this year’s FEAL Conference theme explored the need to adapt traditional life stages (learning, working, retiring) to accommodate longer lives, multiple career paths and the changing concept of retirement. We examined how superannuation leaders can respond to their members’ longer life spans and their distinctive needs and requirements across these evolving life stages.
