About the award
The PIMCO Institute Scholarship is designed to help fund executives enhance their skills and knowledge, inspire new ideas and support their on-going professional development.
This scholarship provides a unique opportunity to attend the exclusive PIMCO Institute headquarters in Newport Beach, California to learn from leading academics and network with colleagues from around the globe. The three-day seminar emphasises content consistent with advanced academic study and incorporated a dynamic, team-based portfolio simulation exercise.
“In April 2024, I spent an immensely rewarding and educational week attending the PIMCO Institute in Newport Beach, California. In addition to the portfolio simulation activity, I heard from PIMCO’s leading practitioners across a range of asset classes and how they were approaching portfolio construction at a time of immense economic and secular change. The week at the Institute also afforded me an opportunity to exchange valuable insights and investment approaches with global peers that were directly transferable to my role. How do I apply?
Applications for the 2025 PIMCO Institute Scholarship opened Tuesday 17th September and close Friday 1st November, applications must be received by 5.00pm (AEDT). To apply for this scholarship click on the ‘Apply Now’ tab to complete an online application form. The winner will be announced at the FEAL AGM on Wednesday 20th November.

Current and aspiring CIOs, including Heads of asset classes in larger funds.
WHAT ARE THE SELECTION PANEL LOOKING FOR?
The selection panel is looking for concise, relevant and informative responses to the questions posed in the application form. In a two or three paragraph response provide a strong ‘business case’ as to why you should receive a scholarship this year. Consider how the program content would assist you in meeting your professional and career goals, or in achieving specific KPIs. Try to be clear and direct and help the selection panel understand how the scholarship opportunity would be helpful to you.

The decision of the selection panel is final and no subsequent correspondence will be entered into
The PIMCO Scholarship is open to FEAL members
Non members who are Fund Executives from not-for-profit funds are eligible to apply. If successful you must join FEAL to receive your Scholarship
Applicants must be employed with their fund at the time of the Scholarship
Successful applicants may be called upon to deliver a report to FEAL members
FEAL Directors are not eligible to apply
The Scholarship covers business class travel, accommodation and tuition (travel expenses and costs outside this must be covered by the recipient)
