Jeff is a digital entrepreneur (jeffbullas.com), author, marketer and international keynote speaker and works with brands to grow and optimize their businesses with emerging technologies, content, social media and digital marketing. He has spent most of his career involved with information technologies, telecommunications and the web. Since starting his jeffbullas.com 10 years ago he has educated and inspired more than 30 million people to transform their lives and businesses and over 5 million people visit his website every year.
Jeff talked on ‘How to win at business and life in a digital world’.
We heard from guest speakers George Savvides, former MD of Medibank Private and Director of World Vision and Marianne Roux, Associate of Melbourne Business School and Associate Professor of Swinburne University of Technology and founder of Roux Consulting.
George discussed ‘How culture can transform an organisation‘. He has 30 years experience in the Aust/NZ healthcare sector, including three CEO roles at Smith & Nephew, Sigma Pharmaceuticals, and Medibank Private. He listed two of these companies (Sigma & Medibank) onto the ASX and led Medibank as CEO for 14 years before retiring in 2016.
Marianne provided an academic perspective on ‘Transformational leadership’. She has over 25 years global experience as a New World Strategist, Leadership Educator, Transformation Consulting Director and HR Executive. She has a keen interest in the new world of work and how organisations, leaders, teams and individuals can prepare themselves.
We heard from guest speakers Michael Dundon, VicSuper and Wendy Tancred, Mercy Super.
Michael was appointed Chief Executive of VicSuper in 2011 and is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Fund. He works closely with the Executive Team and the Board to develop and implement plans and strategies that ensure the Fund continues to meet the needs of members and employers.
Michael has extensive experience in the banking, insurance and utilities industries and previously held the position of CEO at ESSSuper and General Manager Finance at TRUenergy Australia Ltd.
Wendy has over three decades of experience in the financial services industry, having held a variety of roles with AMP including technical, business development and marketing functions. She had a number of senior executive positions with Westpac, including as Qld State Head of their Private Bank and Financial Planning Divisions. In 2017 Wendy became CEO of Mercy Super. Mercy Super is a $1.5 billion niche corporate fund, committed to improving the financial wellbeing of employees of Mater Hospitals.
We listened to guest speakers Michael Traill AM, Adam Gee, Head of Strategy, Grow Superannuation, Dee McGrath, Chief Executive Officer, Retirement and Superannuation solutions, Link Group Globally.
Michael currently has a range of primarily social purpose Chair and board roles including Chair of Goodstart Early Learning; Executive Director of For Purpose Investments, a Director of M H Carnegie & Co, Sunsuper, Hearts & Minds Investments, Australian Philanthropic Services and Adjunct Professor at the Centre for Social Impact at UNSW. He is Chair of the Federal Government’s Social Impact Investing Task Force and the author of ‘Jumping Ship – From the world of corporate Australia to the heart of social investment’.
Adam joined GROW Super as the Head of Strategy in May 2019 and, prior to this, was the lead Partner in KPMG’s Superannuation Advisory practice. Adam has over 20 years’ experience in the superannuation industry and has a detailed understanding of superannuation legislation and industry standards as well as a detailed working knowledge of many of the superannuation funds and their service providers within the industry, having been the Chief Executive Officer of SuperRatings before moving to KPMG.
Dee is responsible for the company’s growth, global strategy & client engagement. With more than 20 years’ experience working across financial services, technology and consulting, she is a strategic leader who is passionate about clients, building high performing teams and creating personalised experiences to help connect clients with their assets.
