FEAL's privacy statement ...

Fund Executives Association Limited (FEAL) must comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) from 21 December 2001 following changes made to that Act by the Privacy Amendments (Private Sector) Act 2000. FEAL is committed to protecting your privacy.

FEAL collects personal information from you to:

  • assist with the provision of professional development to Australian super fund executives;
  • provide member services to you;
  • manage and administer those member services;
  • enable FEAL to conduct member research;
  • enable FEAL to provide information about its services;
  • inform you of related services and help FEAL develop/identify services that may interest you
  • develop, establish and administer business alliances and other arrangements with other organisations to provide effective member services and benefits

Access to personal information

You may access personal information that FEAL holds about you. FEAL will not charge a fee for requesting access. However, if the information sought requires FEAL to retrieve it from archives, or is of a large quantity, a fee may be imposed to recover costs.  Also, FEAL's ability to provide some information will depend on whether we are permitted to do so at law.

Organisations to which information may be disclosed

There are some instances when FEAL may need to provide your personal information to third parties. Examples of these third parties are: professional advisers, sponsors of briefing sessions, consultants and mail houses. When information is provided to third parties, FEAL will request an undertaking that the information be used only for the specific purpose advised.' In some cases, FEAL may also be required or authorised by law to disclose your personal information.

Consequences if information not provided

If you do not provide information or if that information is incomplete or inaccurate, it may:

  • delay processing and consideration of your membership application;
  • prevent FEAL from being able to contact you;
  • delay or prevent FEAL from providing professional development services to you; or
  • prevent FEAL from providing you with other member services.
