Measuring Physical Climate Risk in Equity Portfolios.
DWS (formerly Deutsche Asset Management) were delighted to be partner with FEAL to explore investment solutions as they relate to climate change and risks. At this luncheon Michael Lewis, Head of ESG Thematic Research, presented how investors can build climate resilience in their investment portfolios with specific focus on the physical risks of climate change, such as sea level rise, droughts, flooding and cyclones and the effects these events have on the world’s largest corporations and their supply chains. Delivering investment solutions in this area has become increasingly pressing as losses from natural disasters are becoming more regular occurrences. In 2017, total economic losses from natural disasters were estimated to be $606 billion globally, $306 billion from the United States alone.
Michael was joined by Pieter Furnee, Managing Director, Head of Global Client Group for Deutsche Asset & wealth Management Benelux and Member of the Deutsche Bank Executives Committee Netherlands: Amsterdam.
