Around the world in disability claims
Loraine van Eeden, TAL’s General Manager of Claims, took attendees on a round-the-world trip of disability claims during FEAL’s July luncheon briefing as she talked over lessons learned from a career spanning five continents.
Soon after starting out in corporate actuarial in South Africa, Loraine moved into a risk management position that kick-started her globe-trotting career in insurance. Today she has 20+ years’ experience in claims management and injury prevention across markets as varied as the UK, India, Switzerland, the USA and Australia, including 10 years as the Global Head of Claims at SwissRe.
This has given Loraine a deep understanding of global customer behaviour and health patterns, and valuable insights into the relative merits of life insurance models and regulatory regimes around the world.
This session will help superannuation fund leaders gain a better understanding of what works – and what doesn’t – and how both insurers and funds can drive better member engagement and better outcomes in Australia’s group insurance market.
