The theme for this year’s conference was Forward Thinking. What will the future impact be of the decisions we make today? What will the super fund industry look like in 2030? And how can long term planning future proof our industry?
We were delighted to have Dr Richard Hames – CEO, Centre for the Future, Dr Stefan Hajkowicz – Senior Principal Scientist, CSIRO, Jemma Green – Research Fellow at Curtin University, Perth City Councillor, Ken Lee – Founder, Belleview Research and Shara Evans – Founder and CEO, Market Clarity, futurist and technologist speak at the conference.

Dr Richard Hames

As a foresight practitioner Richard and his team have examined hundreds of topics, ranging from the future of conflict and work to taxation, business and society, food security, international terrorism, smart cities, financial services, health care, science and alternative energy.
A compelling speaker and the author of six books, Richard is CEO of the Centre for the Future – a unique international enterprise whose mission is to make the world work for everyone by designing alternatives to systems that are failing the human family.

Dr Stefan Hajkowicz

Stefan is senior principal scientist at CSIRO and leader of the Data61 Insight Team. Stefan’s work aims to help organisation explore plausible futures and make wise policy and strategy decisions. His expertise lies within the fields of strategic foresight, geography, economics and decision theory. His recent book “Global Megatrends” is one of CSIRO publishing’s best-selling works on strategic foresight methods and future trends.
Stefan will address the conference on his recent research paper, “Tomorrow’s Digitally Enabled Workforce”.

Jemma Green

Jemma Green is a commentator on the rapid change our economy is experiencing around sustainability, disruptive innovation and corporate agility.
At JP Morgan, Jemma helped establish their Global Environmental and Social Risk Management Office looking at environmental standards for energy projects; Jemma completed two postgraduate diplomas and a Masters in Sustainability at Cambridge University, researching corporate credit ratings and environmental risk.
Jemma, is a Perth City Councillor, a PhD candidate and Research Fellow at Curtin University; on the advisory board of Carbon Tracker and a founding board member of Future Super, Australia’s first fossil fuel free superannuation fund.

Ken Lee

Ken Lee has 25 years of experience in investment banking, global markets and investment research. In November 2015, Ken founded Belleview Research together with his partner Alvin Wong. Prior to Belleview Research, Ken was the Head of Asia for 13D Research.

Ken is a regular speaker in corporate town halls, forums and conferences, including most recently the Australia Leadership Retreat organised by the Australian Davos Connection, the Australian Investment Conference organised by the Australia CFA Institute and Harvard Business School Association of Hong Kong (HBSAHK).

Shara Evans

Technology Futurist Shara Evans is a globally acknowledged key note speaker and widely regarded as one of the world’s top female Futurists.

Shara’s latest research is the Future Tech series covering a very wide range of topics, such as: wireless technologies, robotics, drones, cars of the future and the next wave of innovation.

Shara is also the Founder and CEO of Market Clarity, an award-winning technology analyst firm that provides insight, intelligence and advice on all aspects of the telecom and emerging technologies markets.

At the Members’ Dinner this year, Toby Hall from Saint Vincent’s Health Australia was our guest speaker. Toby was appointed Group CEO of St Vincent’s Health Australia, Australia’s second largest healthcare provider in April 2014. Prior to this, he was the CEO of Mission Australia, COO of World Vision Australia and CEO of South Taranaki District Council. Toby is passionate about helping people be the best they can be.
Toby will be speaking on the topic of “Crisis Management”.
